The Challenge
The client envisioned a boutique hotel where every suite would offer unobstructed Aegean views while maintaining absolute privacy between guests. The hillside site in Emponas presented steep terrain and strict local building regulations that limited height and footprint. The brief demanded that no guest should ever see another — yet every room should feel open to the landscape.

Our Approach
We designed a cascading arrangement of independent volumes, each rotated 15 degrees from its neighbour to create visual separation while maximising sea exposure. Local stone was used extensively to anchor the buildings to the hillside, and deep overhangs provided shade without blocking the panoramic views. The landscape design extended each suite with private terraces that dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior.

The Result
Mediterranean Quiet opened in May 2023 and achieved a 94% occupancy rate in its debut season — well above the Rhodes average of 71%. The property was featured in Architectural Digest Greece and received the Hospitality Design Award at the Hellenic Architecture Awards 2024. Guest reviews consistently cite the architecture and sense of privacy as the primary reasons for booking.
